Weekend long wedding celebration at Culcreuch Castle, near Fintry

While couple Emma + Craig are Scottish, they planned their Culcreuch Castle wedding from their new home in England. To celebrate their home coming and up-coming marriage, they hired the venue for a full weekend of celebrations – now that’s what we call a party!

I visited Culcreuch Castle to check it out as a wedding venue with my mum and aunt. When we arrived we loved everything about the grounds; the well-maintained gardens, woods, small loch, fields and wildlife, all of which we knew would look fantastic whatever the weather!

Although we are Scottish, we live and work on the English south coast and found planning a wedding 450 miles away something of a challenge. We had to be organised whenever we were visiting family so that we could squeeze several weeks of wedding jobs into a weekend!

It rained on our wedding day, unfortunately, but we still had an amazing time inside the castle. One of the big highlights that day was our band Fiore – the dancefloor was full all night. We have loads of beautiful photographs from the day that I love to look back at.

Our wedding was fantastic! I especially loved that it wasn’t just the one day; it stretched over the whole bank holiday weekend. On the Friday night we had a pre-wedding get together at the lodges organised by my mum and family, then drinks in the castle bar.

Craig and I lived together before we were married so our day-to-day lives haven’t changed much since the wedding (apart from changing my surname which has taken some getting used to!). However, he is my best friend and I love that we have so many new experiences to look forward to as a couple in the future.
