Laura and Keith were high school sweethearts, and by the time they decided to get married, they already had two beautiful daughters.
Their lovely pastel and mint themed wedding day wasn’t just about the two of them, but the four of them as a happy family!
Bride Laura tells us about her big day in her own words…
“I loved the size of the Menteith Suite and it has several areas, a hallway with a beautiful staircase and a bar and lounge which also leads onto a courtyard area. We loved its classic style and feel.
Having a nine month old and a four year old, we wanted to stay the night before to relieve the panic of getting to the wedding on time.
The morning was so chilled out as our room was so spacious.
The venue was great in the preparation the night before the wedding, I talked through my wishes with the wedding planner as I had many vases of flowers and different aesthetic items for specific areas.
They also spoke with suppliers to where would be the best positions for my photo booth and large light up initials.
The staff couldn’t have been more accommodating.
The most fun aspect of the organising was the theme!
I went for the soft vintage look; vintage lace (which I had from art school 12 years previous), hessian and pearls.
I enjoyed making many items myself and I prepared the flowers for the milk jar vases the night before to go alongside the candelabras for the centrepiece.
We had bunting and fairylights which were all taken care of the morning of the wedding.
With having a young family, the most challenging aspect was remembering my to-do list!
I catalogued and dated all my time lines for payments and kept in touch with my suppliers.
Regardless of how much organising you do, the main thing is to enjoy and embrace every second and go with the flow as it flies by in a flash.
It was so special from start to finish as it was spent with all our nearest and dearest.
Apart from the moment we were declared husband and wife, I think my favourite moment was our first dance with our two little girls as a family to The Temptations’ My Girl.
It feels wonderful as our relationship hasn’t changed. It was the natural evolution from being childhood sweethearts, to now as husband and wife.
