Brand new from October 2018 you’ll be able to hire award-winning Fife wedding venue Balbirnie House on an exclusive-use basis for your big day!
This is an exciting development for one of Scotland’s finest stately home venues, but more than that, it’s the perfect excuse to turn your wedding into the ultimate house party.
Here are a few different options for celebrating your Scottish wedding in style at Balbirnie House¦
Previously, wedding parties at Balbirnie House were only given exclusive access to the public areas of the main Grade A listed building from first thing in the morning until around 5pm.
At this point, the celebrations were moved into the Millennium Ballroom and other hotel guests were free to use the public spaces again.
But now, if you choose to hire Balbirnie House on an exclusive-use basis, it’ll be completely shut off to everyone else.
Basically, you’ll have your own private country manor (complete with 34 luxe bedrooms for your guests to stay overnight in) to enjoy with all your nearest and dearest.
Lots of new options
As well as leaving you feeling like a true VIP, hiring Balbirnie House for your own private use will also open up lots of options.
Because you won’t have to stick to the ballroom from 5pm onwards, you can get creative instead “ have a pipe band entertain your guests on the south lawns or use one of the atmospheric lounges to enjoy post-dinner cocktails.
It also means you can have a more relaxed day. You won’t have to be in or out of any rooms by any time, so you can let the evening flow more naturally from dinner to drinks and finally dancing.
Balbirnie House will offer suggestions on how they think you can best take advantage of all that freedom, but they’re also very open to hearing your own ideas.
Extending the celebrations
Of course, you don’t have to keep the celebrations to one day only.
If you’ve got lots of guests travelling to Balbirnie for your wedding, why not look at hiring out the house and rooms for more than one night?
In fact, you can even turn your wedding into the family and friend get together of a lifetime by making Balbirnie House your base for all your guests for a three-day, five-day or even a week-long trip.
You’ll then have time to explore the surrounding picturesque Fife area as a group.
This is an amazing option if you’ve got lots of guests travelling from abroad for your special day (or if you’re currently living abroad and planning a destination wedding in Scotland!).
Even if you don’t hire out Balbirnie on an exclusive-use basis, hiring out the bedrooms on special group accommodation rates for additional nights before and after the big day is still an option.
An affordable price
So, of course, the obvious question is what’s all that freedom, privacy and luxury going to cost you?
Balbirnie House have tried to make this exclusive-use option (which is only available between October and March, by the way) as affordable as possible.
As a general rule you can expect to pay the following:
- Sundays to Thursdays: £2,000 per night
- Fridays: £3,000
- Saturdays: £4,500
The accommodation rates then vary from month to month and according to whether you’re looking at standard or deluxe rooms, but range between £80 and £120 per night.
The only way to get an accurate quote for your wedding plans though is to get in touch with the Balbirnie House team and chat specifics!
