Claire McPhillimy headed to The Old Manor Hotel for a cosy winter retreat in coastal Fife…
It’s a bitter day as I make my way to The Old Manor Hotel, and although the rolling hills of Fife look postcard-perfect with their sprinkling of frost, I’m feeling the chill.
But as soon as I walk through the door to this charming coastal hotel, I’ve forgotten all about the cold.
Whilst the décor is partly responsible (comfy velvet sofas in deep purples fill the lobby) it’s also thanks to the friendly, welcoming staff who greet us.
They get us checked in, point out the bar and let us thaw out before dinner. And let me tell you, from the cosy comfort of the four-poster suite, those views look even more spectacular.
This is where couples married at the hotel will spend their first night as newlyweds, and the balcony that looks out over the Firth of Forth is perfect for enjoying a celebratory glass of champagne together.
But your guests will also get to marvel at the scenery. The hotel has 23 rooms for guests to pick from, many of which also have sea views and balconies. A few even offer extra seating space for getting your whole bridal party ready in one room!
Spoilt for choice
Those same breath taking views form the backdrop to the function rooms where you’ll celebrate your big day – the Old Manor Hotel’s cosy lounge bar is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxed drink whilst soaking up their trademark views!
The self-contained Lundie and Largo suites comfortably accommodate up to 80 day guests and 120 evening guests, whilst the Aithernie Room seats 18 and is ideal for more intimate parties. You can even hire the entire hotel for exclusive use.
Whatever the size of your wedding, you can be sure that you and your guests will be treated to some delicious food – we enjoyed a warm and filling carbonara during our stay! You’ll get to pick from a range of menus and drink options for your wedding.
