Set in stunning Royal Deeside, new exclusive-use venue Ballogie House is situated in the heart of Ballogie Estate, a place of stunning natural beauty, owned and run by the Nicol family since the 1850s.

Until several years ago Ballogie House was the family home. Following a period of use as a large self-catering property, the beautiful house has undergone a major refurbishment to transform it into an exclusive-use, luxurious wedding venue. Perfect for your dream day.

In Ballogie House you’ll find everything you could possibly wish for to help you host a spectacular wedding.

The property sleeps 14 in seven en suite bedrooms, there’s a drawing room, dining room, the orangery – which can accommodate 40-50 for an intimate dinner or 60-70 for a ceremony – a media room, large family kitchen and even a snooker room “ all tastefully decorated to the highest standard.

Outside you’ll find a hot tub within the extensive grounds and, while the location is rural, you’re only 40 minutes from the airport and Aberdeen.

The estate also boasts luxury holiday cottages, a café and restaurant, salmon fishing and field sports “ everything you need to treat your guests.

Helen Knowles, Ballogie House’s marketing and events co-ordinator, says, “As a new venue in Aberdeenshire we provide a perfect backdrop for any special occasion. Ballogie House is set in a secluded and tranquil location, reached by a tree-lined drive and looks out across beautiful parkland, surrounded by forests and rolling hills.”

Ballogie House may be a new venue in Royal Deeside but Helen and her team’s enthusiasm is infectious.

“We encourage bridal couples to be distinctive and be themselves and have the wedding that is truly reflective of who they are,” she says. “No request is too much trouble, if we can help them make it happen we will!”

Helen is no stranger to planning spectacular events. She has lived and worked abroad with her family in Brunei and Oman and when in Brunei she was part of a committee that organised several Scottish events every year.

“By far my favourite was the Brunei Highland Games, showcasing Scotland’s sporting traditions to the island’s local community,” she says.

“The display by the Sultan’s mass Pipes and Drums and British Military Bands was outstanding and to hear bagpipes so far from home was exceptionally special!”

Now that she’s home in Scotland, Helen is proud to have joined Ballogie Estate and have the opportunity to work in such a beautiful rural location.

It’s fair to say, brides and grooms are in safe hands with Helen who takes her inspiration from Ballogie House’s surroundings and the people she works with. “Also, the exciting moment when a bride and groom reveal their dreams for their special day and the surge of pride knowing that at Ballogie we can make that happen.”

So how do you go about staging the wedding of your dreams at Ballogie House?

After an initial inquiry you’ll be invited for a viewing so you can see around the venue and ask any questions.

Once you decide Ballogie is the perfect backdrop, Helen will introduce you to the team including the wedding planner and then, when you’ve chosen a caterer, they will all work closely to make sure your wedding dreams are realised.

Helen says, “I am always available to answer questions, regardless of how small, which can help ease stressful situations that may arise on the build up to the big day.

“We work hard at Ballogie to have a close relationship with our bridal couples and it is always such a privilege to be part of their special day. As their wedding journey with us comes to an end, their journey is just starting!”

Ballogie House may just be at the start its journey as a wedding venue but the team are incredibly excited about the future.

“The refurbishment of Ballogie House was a journey that everyone on the estate was proud to be part of, an incredible team effort over the last eight months,” says Helen.

“We look forward to making dreams come true; helping brides and grooms be true to themselves and be distinctive on their wedding day!”
