Planner and wedding stylist Lauren Strachan worked with a team of amazingly talented Scottish wedding suppliers on this secret garden styled shoot at 13th century exclusive-use wedding venue, Elsick House.
She tells us a little bit more about the styling behind the shoot¦
“With the warmer weather on the horizon, I decided to plan a styled shoot inspired by the beautiful Scottish countryside that we are lucky to have on our doorstep in Aberdeenshire.
After coming up with the creative concept for the shoot: a laid back, country wedding vibe with a simple green, pink and purple palette, I then set to work looking for my venue.
After speaking with Alison Dumphie from Elsick House, we agreed a styled shoot would be a fantastic opportunity to collaborate together and showcase the beautiful walled gardens and grounds that Elsick House had to offer.
The stunning Alexa dress by Stephanie Allin from Ivory Grace was very much the foundation for the styling of the shoot. It was also very important that we captured the beauty of the walled gardens and grounds at Elsick House.
Once we had our design concept I went about pulling together my dream team of suppliers for the shoot.
The amazingly talented fashion stylist Hayley Charles from HJC Styling and local bridal boutique Ivory Grace were first on my list of suppliers to get on board.
The dresses we selected for the shoot were from Stephanie Allin’s La Vie En Rose collection. A fresh and forward thinking take on bridal, they were perfectly in keeping with the romantic and laid back aesthetic of our venue.
The classic getting ready accessory, the satin bridal robe, was provided by Fizzy Sparklez.
HAIR + MAKE-UP
They gave our bride a stylish, pared back look which worked perfectly with the style of the dresses.
COMPLETING THE LOOK
It was important that the furniture and decor felt natural in the surroundings of the walled gardens, and Regrain Furniture Scotland and Virginia’s Vintage Hire Scotland delivered exactly what we asked for!
For the tablescape, we combined classic white crockery, gorgeous ombre glassware with modern rose gold cutlery and copper table décor elements from Lace Sixpence Weddings & Events against the handmade reclaimed wood table from Regrained Furntiure Scotland.
This worked perfectly and gave a modern and fresh look to the wooden furniture.
Regrain Furniture Scotland also provided us with two gorgeous reclaimed pallet benches which we styled in a relaxed lounge area set up.
And what can we say about the cake and dessert table goodies?! They were created by the talented Kirsty Pickford from Cakes by Kirsty, who completely nailed the royal wedding buttercream style we were after.”
