Popular wedding venue Culcreuch Castle Hotel has announced that it will close on 3rd January 2020.
Located in Fintry, Stirlingshire, this venue has long been loved by Scottish couples – and those who were due to marry there now face the challenge of finding a new venue and rearranging their wedding plans at short notice.
The closure has come as a shock not only to couples set to marry at the venue but to staff, who only found out last Wednesday, 2nd October, that the owners planned to close the hotel.
General Manager Robert Reynolds posted a statement on Facebook, saying:
“On the 2nd of October we were informed by the owners that they were closing Culcreuch Castle Hotel on the 3rd of January 2020.
“My staff & I are all devastated by this news. Although we will all be leaving in January 2020 we are fully committed to looking after all our guests between now & then with our usual dedication. For those couples affected we will do everything we can to assist you through this difficult time.”
A spokesperson for the venue told Scottish Wedding that couples will be refunded their deposits.
The spokesperson also said that other venues in the area have been in touch with Culcreuch to assist couples who now need somewhere new to marry, but declined to comment on which venues have been in touch.
