Couple Lesley + Richard had spent many happy days in Argyll + Bute, so when it came to planning their wedding day, it was the first place they looked for a wedding venue.
And they came across an absolute gem at Crear Weddings. The couple tied the knot surrounded by the friends and family on the beach on beautiful and sunny summer’s day.
Embracing their beach wedding venue, the couple had a boho seaside theme when decking out their reception space, creating a gorgeous and laid back wedding day that went down a storm with their guests.

“We first met when we worked together back in 1999 but lost touch over time. Then, in 2010 we bumped into each other again at work reunion and really hit it off!
We kept in touch, and had a long distance relationship that lasted over five years. By 2015 Richard had moved to Scotland to be with me.
We knew we wanted to be married by the sea and wanted something non traditional as a venue, but also somewhere that held some meaning to us both.
We both love Argyll and Bute and it holds special meaning to us, and when we Googled wedding venues in that area Crear Weddings came up.
We happened to be in the area at the time and were lucky enough to get an appointment to view the place.
The beach, views and facilities completely blew us away. Crear allows allowed us tons of freedom when putting together the theme and decor for our wedding day, and the staff do all they can to assist in the planning.
Our aisle was a walk down to the beach and was very emotional! I was with my daughter Katie and our time together during the walk was so personal and precious to us both.
I was so proud of her and she looked so beautiful. We followed the piper who played The Rose for our arrival.
We had a Humanist ceremony as neither of us are religious and we wanted to have a ceremony that was created by us. We had a hand-fasting ceremony, I used some Morrison Tartan ribbon and Richard used his Tring Cricket Club Tie!
Our ceremony was romantic, emotional and filled with love and laughter. It was so special standing in front of each other surrounded by our friends and family with the sound of the waves and the wind in the background.
Our theme was seaside boho! The centrepiece of the tables had sand, driftwood, and old bottles that looked like they had been washed ashore, along with other seaside themed touches added to complete the look.
The ladies received favours buckets filled partly with sand. We drilled holes in each side of the bucket and threaded through rope as a handle and then filled it with buried treasure – miniature soaps in the shape of seashells, a shower steamer and a silver starfish charm.
Our wedding reception was exactly the kind of party we wanted. We also had lots of dressing up stuff like brightly coloured wigs, tiaras, novelty glasses and moustaches, and also had blow up guitars, microphones, saxophones too – everyone joined in!
Richard is English so we had lots of guests from south of the border who absolutely loved attempting the Gay Gordons and the Dashing White Sergeant ceilidh dances!
We lived together for a while before we were married so it doesn’t feel like too much has changed now we’re married!
But it does feels like we now have a stronger bond and commitment – we value our friendship more than anything and our relationship is stronger because of our shared values and hopes for the future.
