Sarah and Andrew’s big day was quite literally in full bloom with their gorgeous flowers in the picture-perfect setting of Carlowrie Castle.
Their intimate wedding was shared with their closest family and friends, all captured by Marc Millar Photography.
Here, bride Sarah talks us through their dream day…
Our day was based around the two of us and about bringing our families together.
We decided our theme would be very romantic and delicate; we wanted one of the main focuses to be the flowers.
Having grown up within a florist business, I knew I wanted our wedding to be filled with as many flowers as possible.
Our day didn’t feel too large, but it felt so special to have everyone who meant something to us both all in the one place at the same time.
Carlowrie Castle was the first venue we went to view and instantly fell in love. Everything about it, from the decor to the incredible grounds, we knew instantly that this venue was our perfect choice.
We loved the fact we were able to hire the venue for the whole weekend which meant we could celebrate the evening before with our bridal party and family.
As part of our exchange of gifts on the morning of the wedding, we both put in effort that really touched the hearts of us both. Andrew gave me a brooch that his gran left him when she sadly passed away.
As a tribute to him, I attached this brooch to my wedding bouquet and didn’t tell him it was there until after the ceremony. He was so honoured that I used it on my bouquet.
I sent a framed letter congratulating us both on our marriage from his favourite football team, Heart Of Midlothian, to Andrew’s room before the ceremony. He was blown away and didn’t expect me to be able to do something like that.
Another special moment was when my dad read out a card written to us from my Nani June, who was sadly admitted to Marie Curie the Monday before our wedding. My Nani could not make the wedding, but was so honoured to be by my side the day I picked my dress; a moment I will cherish forever.
We enjoyed the challenge of wedding planning and the excitement of the build up. We wouldn’t change a thing, everything was perfect.
After the day we felt as though we were on cloud nine. We loved going on honeymoon straight away and just enjoying our time together.
We decided to pick Mexico as our honeymoon destination as this was where we got engaged. Mexico will always hold a special place in our hearts.
Wedding planning and the day itself is exhausting that it really is lovely to just chill after the big day. We have been together since we were 15 so married life feels no different. It just feels lovely to call each other husband and wife and share the same name.
As we have been together for 10 years, we would say we are definitely soul mates. We could never imagine life without each other.
Our wedding day was a celebration of us and a day we will remember for the rest of our lives, it felt like our own real life fairytale.
