Beth and Kyle wanted the best of both worlds at their Lanarkshire wedding – a traditional celebration, but one at which their guests could feel a little more relaxed. They found a wedding venue that could offer all of that and more in Eden Leisure Village in Cumbernauld, where they could build the day of their dreams.
Celebrating their wedding at a beautifully secluded spot just beyond the woods, the couple achieved the dreamy and relaxed vibe that they wanted for their day.
Bride Beth tells us about her wedding day in her own words…
“Eden Leisure Village is a relatively new venue, so we liked that none of our guests would have seen it before.
It’s different and I love that each wedding can be made totally unique because you start with a blank canvas and create any theme you want from it! The venue was intimate, natural, relaxed, and had stunning views of hills for days, yet almost nestled in a little pocket within the woods – it was totally amazing!
We also got to stay in the little Glamping Pods and Hobbit Huts the nights before and after so made for a whole weekend adventure in the woods.
I tried not to let the small decisions mean too much to me. It’s a once in a lifetime day and I totally understand wanting it to be perfect but sometimes the things you ponder over and over and have little bickers with your mum about just don’t seem worth it in the end, and the wedding always comes together anyway.
I think the main thing is to enjoy the whole experience from planning to the day – and the aftermath!
It may sound cheesy but I was constantly reminding myself of the fact that the whole day was about Kyle and I vowing to spend the rest of our lives together, so nothing can top the vows!
If I were to choose another special part of the day I’d say the weather made for an amazing and relaxed atmosphere.
It let us just have a great time surrounded by family and friends in the most gorgeous setting. Best day ever!
The most challenging thing we found while planning the wedding was the guest list.
Being a part of a church and having large pools of friends and family on both sides made it very difficult to invite all the people we’d have loved to be there.
I wanted the wedding to have traditional elements but with a very relaxed feel throughout the whole day.
Where ever we could we had everyone outside and wherever we could we tried to bring the outside in by adding trees inside the marquee, decorating it with flowers, logs, and moss everywhere.
We were trying to keep everything light and airy and fitting with our setting in the woods.
Kyle and I didn’t actually live together until after the wedding so I think just waking up and going to bed together has been the best part so far!
We’ve loved decorating and making our new house a home, together.”
