Nicky and Brandi met while he was singing on a cruise ship and married in a glam ceremony, only weeks after a fairytale proposal at Trump Turnberry, A Luxury Collection Resort.
Here the bride shares all the details from their day, captured by Ryan Mimiec Photography…
“Nicky was working on a cruise ship as entertainment and I was on the ship for a girls’ holiday.
We met when his set finished on the last night.
We had been together about a year and a half when Nicky surprised me with an absolutely beautiful proposal at Trump Turnberry.
We wanted to plan the wedding as quickly as possible so we could continue to live our normal lives and I wouldn’t have to go back home to the States.
We were originally going to marry in Hamilton registrar office, until we viewed Chatelherault.
Our minds were completely switched and we decided to have our ceremony there.
We reached out to Dalziel [for the reception] and realised all our wedding dreams could come true.
My dress was the first I tried on, and I tried on a lot!
It was fitted but flared slightly, embroidered with beads and sequins for the perfect sparkle and we topped it off with a very bling belt and flowy long veil.
I stayed at Dalziel the night before.
Me being the perfectionist that I am, I wanted to set up the tables and favours, see everything for myself and make sure everything was perfect.
I was up till 3am tying bows on chairs, sprinkling the tables in diamantes and settling up the seating chart.
I loved the morning of the wedding.
We were all in very good spirits, plus I felt like royalty and knew I was marrying the love of my life.
Walking down the aisle was very emotional; I actually pulled my step-father’s arm so we could slow down because I didn’t want to be ugly-crying when I made it to Nicky!
We wrote our own vows and cried at each other’s, but were smiling ear to ear while saying our own.
The speeches were the perfect mix of funny and heartfelt.
What stood out the most for me was the video my maid of honour Aja put together of all the family members and friends who couldn’t make it to the wedding with all of their special messages and wishes for Nicky and I.
We wanted the evening to be a big party and I truly think everyone enjoyed themselves.
For our first dance we chose Can’t Help Falling in Love but was surprised with Luke Friend singing it! The song is just so relatable for us!
We chose a DJ for our entertainment but Sam Bailey, Luke Friend and Jack Robertson all sang a few songs each throughout the night!
We played a few games like the bouquet toss and garter toss which is apparently an American thing!
My advice for other couples would be do everything the way you and your husband want it; this is your special day.
Most importantly enjoy every minute!”
