Bride Charlotte and groom Stuart really did hire some of Scotland’s finest wedding suppliers to make their Perthshire wedding dreams come true!
With the help of a great wedding planner and stylist, friends and family, the couple created a day that they will never forget, in a venue that had their heart from the very first time they visited.
Charlotte tells us more and shares the gorgeous wedding snaps, captured by Laura at Eilidh Robertson Photography…
“The beautiful chapel and scenic, fairytale setting of Murthly Castle in Perthshire won us over immediately. The venue has a fantastically intimate and welcoming feel and its surroundings are so magical; it was the perfect backdrop to our special day.
We wanted to get a wedding photographer who would do this venue justice, and we found that in Laura at Eilidh Robertson Photography. She was instantly warm and friendly, and we just knew that she would be able to put us at ease and capture our day perfectly.
We just love these photos that Laura took, and we think it reflects exactly how our day was. Our videographer really captured the essence of what our wedding was too; you barely noticed Mhairi as she worked in the background, getting all of those little moments on film that I know we’ll watch again and again.
For my dress, I went to Apple Blossom Time in Glencarse, and Karen and Jolene were so helpful when it came to that big decision. They made me feel so relaxed and helped settle my nerves during the whole process. Once I had found my dress, they kept it safe until the day before our wedding so that I didn’t have to stress about where to store it.
We chose a classic colour scheme of blush pink, light grey and ivory which was reflected through lots of aspects of the wedding. Our florist was wonderful and had some really creative ideas, and on the day the flowers really enhanced the beauty of Murthly Castle.
We included personal touches like wedding photographs of our grandparents who couldn’t be with us, and one of our beautiful bridesmaid sang during the ceremony. Our table plan was displayed on a mirror at the entrance of the marquee and the tables were named after cities that both of our families have lived in over the years.
Working as a full-time teacher meant that wedding planning had its challenges. I couldn’t have done it all without the help of Janice from Blue Thistle Weddings.
She made sure that no detail was out of place, and no timing unrehearsed so that we had nothing to worry about on the day. She listened to every single idea we had (however ridiculous!) and helped us to create our vision. We can’t thank her enough. My mum was such a massive help to us too.
When we woke up the next day as a married couple it felt strange, but also amazing! Neither of us could stop smiling or talking about the big day before.
We’d been together for nine years before our wedding and everyone had told us that being married doesn’t feel much different, so we were surprised when we did feel different – in a wonderful way, of course!
