Of course, owner of NutMeg Couture Bridal Megan designed a bespoke dress for her fairytale-perfect wedding to groom Kerrence, and we’re completely in love with it!
In fact, their whole day – with rustic and handmade details to match their venue Dulduff Farm – caught our eye, so we had to share it with you all.
Bride Megan chats us through designing her own dress and planning her perfect wedding, and shares some of the stunning pics from David Grant Simpson Photography…
We met at a club in San Diego when I was taking a road trip across the States. I came home and said to a friend, “That’s the guy I will marry.”
Almost five years of long distance later, Kerrence’s visa was approved and he moved here just in time for us to get married.
My family and I go to the King’s Theatre panto every year. At the end, I was called up onstage under the ruse of being nominated to sing.
Kerrence appeared from the wings and surprised me with my nana’s ring!
I design and handmake bespoke bridal gowns so when it came to my own wedding dress there was only one choice!
I found this stunning lace that had birds and floral detailing. I really enjoyed being the bride for the first time!
As a Disney fanatic, I loved the idea of combining the lace flowers and birds into a classic princess-shaped gown.
I chose to use multiple layers of very lightweight, floaty fabric, each with a different quality.
I teamed up with Laila Lettering for my totally bespoke cape, featuring my fave Beauty and the Beast quote and wedding date in Swarovski crystals.
Accessories designer Tilly Thomas Lux created a bespoke crown for me that combined leafy shapes with crystal stars.
I had seven bridesmaids and wanted them all to be in different styles. I chose three colours and then let them pick their fave.
Planning was tricky with us being on different continents. We wanted the décor to reflect the earthy, rustic vibe of Dalduff Farm.
Using natural materials, there were plenty of handmade elements and lots of flowers.
I walked down the aisle to Tale As Old As Time from Beauty and the Beast.
I was totally overwhelmed with happiness and could tell Kerrence was too. There were so many obstacles we had to overcome to reach this point.
Our celebrant Sandy had the perfect mix of laughs, crowd control and sentimental messages.
Prior to the day he had us write paragraphs on why we love each other which he read out to us for the first time during the ceremony.
We had to give the Americans an immersive Scottish experience so we went with a ceilidh!
The energy on the night was electric. We had to drag people to the bus when it was home time.
I don’t think I stopped smiling all day. It really felt like the end of a long road for us.
We are just so happy to finally be together permanently.
