Each week we’re asking a different Scottish make-up artist to let us in on the one hero beauty product that’s always in their kit.
This week it’s the turn of Kirsty MacPherson Hair and Make Up Artist. Here’s what she says:
How did you become a make-up artist?
“I was always obsessed with make-up, even as a little girl. All my jobs have been art-related.
“I took the plunge and went for a manager’s position with Clarins. After six years there I wanted to learn more and also own my own business. So I gave up my job and moved to London, studying at Brushstrokes at Shepperton Studios, covering all aspects of the world of make-up artistry.”
What’s your hero beauty product?
“Smooth Radiant Complexion from Embryolisse. I love it, it’s an anti-fatigue serum that boosts and plumps the skin.
“It will leave your skin brighter, fuller and looking well rested, even if you haven’t slept.”
What are your top tips for applying?
“I apply on cleansed skin, before I use my primers. A little goes a long way and as it glides on to the skin the radiance instantly takes over and gives the skin a flawless finish.
“Rub it into your palms and push on to the skin with gentle pressure movements. Also, another wee tip; take a small amount and add it to your body moisturiser and rub over your legs for a highlight!”
