Each week we’re asking a different Scottish make-up artist or hair stylist to let us in on the one hero beauty product that’s always in their kit.
This week it’s the turn of Gosia from Gosia Weiss Makeup Artist. Here’s what she says:
How did you become a make-up artist?
“I’m originally from Poland and I’ve been living in Scotland for over 11 years. Make-up has been a passion all my life so a long long time ago I did some courses to gain some skills but then I went to uni to study Biomedical Science and once I had my degree I started to work in a medical lab.
“After moving to Scotland I used to work in hospital as a phlebotomist (so called vampire!) but due to some health issues I left hospital and decided to start my own business.
“I’ve done some additional training and it’s been four years now since I’ve been working full-time as a make-up artist. I absolutely love it!”
What is your hero beauty product?
“Years of experience have a big influence on my choice of products which I use in my kit.
“A product that is essential in my kit is a good long-lasting lip pencil in a neutral/nude colour.
“I’ve got two which I think are the best; Charlotte Tilbury ‘Pillow Talk’ and MAC ‘Dervish’.
“They will curve a perfect shape of lips, add some base colour to lips, stop lipstick from “bleeding” (smudging at the edges) and most importantly they will make lipstick stay longer.
“An additional beauty of both of them is that they suit every skin complexion and every look!”
