Each week we’re asking a different Scottish make-up artist or hair stylist to let us in on the one hero beauty product that’s always in their kit.
This week it’s the turn of Helen Foreman of Circles Bridal Hair and Makeup. Here’s what she says:
How did you become a hair stylist and make-up artist?
“I was a professional hairdresser and worked in the wedding industry for a few years. I found that lots of clients asked me if I offered make-up as well.
“I then enrolled on a course at Stevenson College. Once qualified I found that I loved the pleasure and creativity of applying make-up.
“I really enjoyed to see the before and after results.
“It has been fun learning and trying lots of different brands. We have settled on a mixture of brands that are long-lasting and look amazing on the skin, which is so important for a bride’s wedding day!
“We love making our brides feel their most confident and radiant.”
What is your hero beauty product?
“I would have to say Jane Iredale’s Smooth Affair Primer.
“It ensures your make-up is long-lasting, as it is moisturising.
“It feels great on the skin and has a nice scent. It smooths, brightens and nourishes the skin.
“When a bride is organising a wedding it can be a stressful time and many quite often find that their skin can become dehydrated.
“This product helps to combat this and provides a healthy glow.”
What are your tips for applying?
“For bridal make-up the most important thing is longevity.
“Use a clean brush and apply the primer all over your face and down to the neck, focusing on drier areas such as the cheeks.
“It also helps minimise the appearance of pores and reduces the appearance of wrinkles – what’s not to love!”
