My mum is totally amazing because she kept me sane during the planning of our recent wedding!

Mum is supportive, encouraging and always an ear to listen or a shoulder to cry on when needed. She looked absolutely STUNNING on our recent wedding day and I’ll never be able to thank her enough for all of her help!

Laura Cow + Fiona (MIL) + Alison (Dad’s partner)

Fiona (my mother in law-to-be) and Alison (my dad’s partner) have been my rocks going through the wedding planning process.

We get Married July this year and having lost my mum it has been a difficult time doing all the bridal things without her. However, these ladies have made it special and been there for me every step of the way.

“A mother’s love for her child is like nothing else in the world. It knows no law, no pity, it dates all things and crushes down remorselessly all that stands in its path.”

I absolutely LOVE this photo of me and mum from the morning of my wedding!!

She was such a massive help with of the planning for me and my husbands big day. I couldn’t have organised everything without her and I appreciate all of the time she put into it so much! She really is amazing.

We’re planning a Halloween wedding this October and mum’s been there to listen to every crazy idea and on hand with great advice when I have needed a little rant!

Not only that but she’ll be walking me down the aisle and I can’t wait for her to be there to hold my hand.

Laura Bennie + Alma Bennie

Our wedding is in 15 weeks and my mum has been an absolute rock to my fiance and I throughout the whole process.

She helped me pick my dress and all my accessories, wouldn’t let me pay for a thing and also wouldn’t let me see the prices of anything either!

She is the most selfless person I know and in my opinion no one deserves to be spoiled more than she does.

Amy Dodds + Jill

We got married on 15th July 2016, and I couldn’t have done it without my amazing mum Jill.

She helped me with everything from start to finish. It was the best year spending so much time together planning every detail. It all came together so perfectly.

“I will look after you and I will look after anybody you say needs to be looked after, any way you say. I am here. I brought my whole self to you. I am your mother.”

My mum is wonderfully creative and she helped me make all of my scattered ideas a reality for our wedding last September. We wanted our wedding to be personal to us and therefore focused on the little personal details and touches.

My mum helped with so many details such as handmade bouquets and buttonholes from dried flowers (something she’d never tried before but was a natural!) and helping me make lots of vintage inspired decorations for the venue. This was just one example of my mum going out of her way to help me out – it’s a trait that is instilled in her and I’d like to think and hope that I have the same personality.

The picture is of my mum in the middle, my younger sister Helen on the left and myself on the right. My sister Helen is also getting married this May and therefore mum is still in full wedding mode!

She is amazing, raised me herself and gave me everything she possibly could.

I was bridesmaid at her wedding and I can’t wait for her to walk me down the aisle for mine, when we eventually set a date!

My mum is a truly special lady who helped to organise our beautiful wedding down to the little details. I live in England and Glasgow is my heart, my home, and I couldn’t have organised my traditionally Scottish wedding without my mum. We are a close unit and I love her unconditionally.

Sometime I feel like we are worlds apart but distance is only miles and she really is the best Mum ever and what a beautiful Mother of the Bride she was.

“Call your mother. Tell her you love her. Remember, you’re the only person who knows what her heart sounds like from the inside.”

Kathy Shanks + Kathryn McAlonan

I am a generally anxious person and everyone in my family ( I reckon) was concerned I would be a nightmare of a bride. My mum kept me so calm the week before the wedding by taking time from her work to support me.

My mum and I had feared we would come to conflict (as we are so alike) but she made sure I fully enjoyed every second of the day and for that I am eternally grateful.

Our family life has not always been straightforward and she is truly the strongest, bravest and most beautiful woman I know.

Janine McGowan + Pat Dalgarno

From the minute I told her I was getting married she was over the moon (despite me telling her for years I would never get married!).

Both my mum and step dad were outstanding at helping us plan our day. My mum went above and beyond to help us, as she always does – she is amazing.

Always there to listen, rescue me and make me laugh – it hasn’t always been easy but she is one in a million.

Hilary Crawford + Ann

I live far away from her, in Bermuda, but she is always always always there for me and is helping my organise my wedding in Scotland whenever I need her!

Living so far away from my mum is really hard at times but she is so important to me and my partner. This photo is when she drove me in the snow to see our venue, Borthwick Castle, when I came home for a long weekend in early February.

She didn’t mind taking time off work to fit in my busy schedule of venue hunting and dress shopping.

Why is my mum amazing- she’s always the practical voice of reason to me and my three siblings (Cathy, David and Richard) and seems to have a sixth sense if one of us is worried.

I’ll and there for us 100% in whatever path life takes us.
