Each week we’re asking a different Scottish make-up artist to let us in on the one hero beauty product that’s always in their kit.
This week it’s the turn of Natalie Mackenzie Makeup Artist/Hairstylist. Here’s what she says:
HOW DID YOU BECOME A MAKE-UP ARTIST?
“I was working within social work before I became a make-up artist. I had become very disillusioned and I was struggling to manage being a mum with working full time Monday-Friday. I retrained as a make-up artist, having always loved make-up, and I have never looked back.
I have been in the wedding industry for three years.”
WHAT’S YOUR HERO BEAUTY PRODUCT?
“NARS sheer glow foundation is a beautiful foundation that gives buildable coverage. Many of my brides comment that it doesn’t even feel like they’re wearing make-up but that their skin is glowing.
“It also has great longevity and I completely trust that it will last the day for my brides. I’ve had many a request for the shade used on clients after I have worked with them so that they can buy it themselves.
“The great thing about this foundation is that it’s a great all-rounder. However, it works particularly well for brides that have oilier skin or struggle with the dreaded T-zone shine.”
WHAT ARE YOUR TOP TIPS FOR APPLYING?
“I apply with a foundation brush and buff it lightly into the skin in circular motions until a smooth and even finish is achieved. I then set it with a loose translucent powder.”
