In order to achieve peak honeymoon goals, Opodo also reckons that budget will need to get you:

  • an average of 12 days away with your partner
  • a journey of around 11 hours, with the Maldives coming top of the location wish list
  • two spa treatments and four candlelit meals!

But the real secret to a successful honeymoon, according to three quarters of Brit anyways, is finding the perfect balance between romance, relaxation and adventure!

And Opodo have even managed to come up with a few key stats that’ll help you achieve it!

To nail romance you’ll need to find time for four strolls along the beach (as well as those four candlelit meals), relaxing will involve on average 3 hours and 37 minutes of sunbathing per day, whilst adrenaline activities are the order of the day for getting your fill of adventure!

Top of that extreme activities list is skydiving, which 21% of Brits would like to try on their honeymoon, with another 19% also keen to go cage diving with sharks!

Whilst you’re enjoying your adventures and making the most of some relaxing downtime, don’t forget about social media!

According to this survey, you and your partner should post two social media updates during your honeymoon. In fact, one in five surveyed considered taking selfies as “essential” to the honeymoon experience, so you’d best get practising your couple poses now!

So there you have it! What do you make of these ideal honeymoon stats?
