Gorgeous intimate wedding at Edinburgh City Chambers, Edinburgh

Some people take years to plan their wedding, but Suzanne and Mindaugas managed to plan their Edinburgh celebration in just seven weeks!

The couple wanted a stripped-back, intimate wedding, surrounded only by their very closest friends and family, and chose a beautiful Edinburgh restaurant as their reception venue.

Photographed beautifully by Marcin at Northern Love Stories, read all about the wedding in bride Suzanne’s own words below…

Mindaugas and I met at college, as we were on the same human resources course.

My initial impression of Mindaugas was that he was cute but a little up himself – and he thought I was pretty but spoilt!

Mindaugas proposed on the 15th September 2018 in Cramond near Edinburgh, a few days after our third anniversary. It’s where we had one of our first dates, and where we had our first kiss!

We only had seven weeks to organise our wedding, so our first priority was a wedding venue.

We got married in a civil ceremony at Edinburgh City Chambers and then had our wedding reception in No11 Brasserie & Boutique Hotel.

It was a place which was close to both our hearts and where we knew we could have the intimate reception we wanted there.

We came across Marcin from Northern Love Stories work online whilst looking for wedding photographers located in Edinburgh.

We were instantly attracted to his style of photography, and after a look through one of his wedding albums, we knew we HAD to book him!

On the day, Marcin arrived on time as expected and got on really well with our families and guests.

We had an amazing time during the whole ceremony and reception working with Marcin. It felt we were accompanied by a friend rather than a photographer!

One of my favourite parts of wedding planning was spending that time with Mindaugas and going through everything we had to think about together.

We were battling against each other until we both liked something – It was a fun process!

Our speeches were special and personal; something neither of us will ever forget.

One of the most memorable parts our our day has to be my father-in-law’s speech, which he said in English despite his first language being Lithuanian.

The effort he put into his speech and the blessings he gave to us will always be memorable.

We only had around 25 guests, which was great because we got to spend time with everyone while also managing to enjoy our time alone and celebrate together.

I remember sitting and looking across the table, seeing all the smiles and hearing all the laughter. I turned to Mindaugas in shock because I couldn’t believe the day was nearly over already!
