Shellby and Lewis created their happily ever after with gorgeous blooms and hundreds of candles.
Their glamorous all-white decor wedding day at Trump Turnberry was a real life fairytale.
Here, bride Shellby shares all from their beautiful big day.
We met back in secondary school. Funnily enough I told Lewis that I “fancied him” way back. His response was that of a typical 13-year-old boy: “Go fancy someone else”.
Fast forward a few years and the tables had turned and it was him who made the first move.
Lewis was working in Norway and had come home to celebrate our seventh anniversary.
I had booked the Blythswood Square Hotel for a spa weekend and had planned the whole thing, so you can imagine my surprise when Lewis got down on one knee.
I knew from the very beginning I wanted everything light, dreamy and fairytale-like with lots of candles and hanging flowers.
My mum and dad had an all-white wedding so I wanted to incorporate some aspects of it. We had orchids mixed in with our flowers as they were my mum’s wedding flowers too.
Emma at Supernova Wedding Design is amazing! For the ceremony we had a few Perspex pillars with flower halos, a white aisle runner and a beautiful Perspex arch adorned with hanging wisteria, intertwined with candles.
For the reception we opted for flower halos with a mixture of my favourite flowers, ghost candelabra and flower rings. It was breathtaking!
Watching the girls walk down the aisle to the string quartet whilst I was standing with my dad is a moment I’ll never forget.
I had a mixture of emotions running through me; nerves, the fear of tripping, anticipation, but the overall feeling was of love and excitement.
Having grown up in a Christian family, it was important for me to have a Christian ceremony.
We don’t live in the area so had to do a bit of research when finding Reverend Richard Moffat. He was brilliant!
We went for traditional vows and felt like the only two in the room. In those moments everything felt perfect.
When the lights went down we were left with the romantic aura from the hundreds of candles and the ballroom was breathtakingly beautiful.
The reception was the perfect time to dance and have fun. It was the most wonderful way to end an amazing day.
