It’s time for the nearly weds to choose who’ll stand by their side on the big day, and what’ll they wear
Picking my groomsman was a fairly easy task. My best man Rab is one of my best friends from our uni days together. We’ve been through some good times together, and I have no doubt he’ll have a few stories to share on the wedding day.
I have two ushers: my brother Ryan, who’s a big part of my life, so it’s important he plays a big part in the day, and my good friend Chris.
I’m not so sure my stag do will run so smoothly though! Unlike lots of grooms, I really want to be involved in the plans with my stag. It’s not that I don’t trust my best man (honestly!) but I’m a total organisational freak so I have to have a hand in it! We’ve decided on a long weekend in Hamburg in September for about 12 of my friends and family. We’ll plan a few activities, but overall I want the weekend to be chilled with lots of beer and laughs.
I won’t lie “ before I hit the bridal boutiques I spent hours researching and pinning my dream dress. I knew that I wouldn’t have a proper idea of what I really liked until I went to try them on, and I was totally right. Without saying too much (as Barry will read this), I can confirm I have found The One, and actually this has made the wedding seem incredibly real!
Speaking of my bridesmaids, it didn’t take me long to choose them. My three best friends Jill, Jane and Jen were people I knew I couldn’t do without on the big day.
I’ve set up a Facebook group for my hens, but I’ve since been kicked out of it! All I know is that I am going to Crieff Hydro. I like to think my friends know me quite well and would know what I would and wouldn’t like. That hasn’t stopped the numerous jokes about dinner at KFC or ordering inflatable willies and strippers. I really hope those are jokes!
