Doune Castle in Stirlingshire has been temporarily renamed Winterfell to celebrate the digital download release of the final season of hit TV show Game of Thrones.

Doune Castle in Stirlingshire has been temporarily renamed Winterfell to celebrate the digital download release of the final season of hit TV show Game of Thrones.

Locations throughout the UK have been rechristened with GoT names to pay tribute to the final season of the show, with Essex becoming Essos, Covent Garden becoming Highgarden and Blackpool becoming Castle Black-Pool.

Fans are being encouraged to head to these locations to pose with the new signage – and who knows, maybe they’ll spot the brand new Queen in the North Sansa Stark holding court in Winterfell!
