Country teepee wedding in groom’s family garden, Wester Lochloy

Lots of couples say they want a laid back wedding, but maybe not all of them would be chilled enough to host their big day in the groom’s mum’s back garden!

But that’s exactly what Leanne and Callum did for their wedding day, hiring PapaKata‘s teepee tents for the ultimate festival-style wedding celebration.

Find out what bride Leanne had to say about her lovely wedding day below…

“Callum and I shared our first kiss while camping in a teepee tent with friends, so it seemed only right that we marry in one!

His mum’s garden provided the perfect location as it was large enough to erect the structures, which made everything that much more relaxing for us.

From the start I knew I wanted a relaxed wedding, and I tried to make it feel like a boho country style outdoor festival. It was important to us to keep everything laid back and welcoming for our guests.

It’s hard to choose just one or two things from the day, almost everything was perfect. If I had to pick though, I would have to say the ceremony. It was so personal and tailored to us, and well, just lovely!

It was that moment of the day that I remember vividly over any other part.

The most difficult the part of the planning process was staying true to myself. So many people like to have their say or pass comment or judgement, mostly without even realising the effect it has on you and the stress that it can cause.

If you know you want something, go for it – it’s your day, not theirs!

Even before getting married I knew it wouldn’t change us, we are still the same couple we were before only difference is that we have committed ourselves to each other in front of friends and family.

I love being able to call myself by Callum’s last name because it makes me so proud, that’s definitely the best thing!”
