Rangers footie star Lee married his long time love in a glamorous star-studded wedding ceremony just outside Edinburgh.
Their beautiful big day was captured by Zee Photo and bride Stephanie tells us all about the planning and wedding here…
We met through friends at a local pub eight years go. We just really clicked from the start and had the same sense of humour – it helped that I had an interest in football as well!
Choosing where to have our wedding was our biggest priority as we knew we were going to have a lot of guests, so we had to ensure that we loved the venue and that it was big enough.
When we saw Carlowrie Castle we just loved everything about it – it’s a castle with a very modern interior!
Originally I thought about going for pale pastels for our colour scheme but then I changed my mind and went for silver, grey and white; I had been looking for inspiration on Instagram and just loved those colours together.
I wanted to make sure one style suited all my bridesmaids and that they felt comfortable.
I loved the vintage-style look and they all looked fab!
My footwear was a little bit different. I went for lace-up ankle boots by Sophia Webster.
I’m a big fan of her shoes so it was one of the first places I looked for my wedding!
We didn’t plan on hiring a wedding co-ordinator but as things started to get a bit crazy I got in touch with Jordana Events for the flowers and decor.
We were really lucky to book her as her work is amazing! I knew we could completely trust her to work her magic.
Organising the seating plan was tough. I really thought it would be a walk in the park but it was actually quite stressful because I was working with a large number of people!
One of my good friends has a company called kaos+grey and she created a football tactics board for our seating plan which was brilliant – she even used real astroturf!
The night before my dad, step-mum and sister stayed over at ours and we had a takeaway. We had a few drinks after getting the kids settled followed by an early night.
We had a humanist wedding as we loved the personal aspect of being able to write our own ceremony.
We enjoyed working with our celebrant Tim Maguire and liked adding some humour into it to give our guests a laugh on the day!
The dancefloor was busy from start to finish and the atmosphere was incredible!
Everyone loved the music and I didn’t sit down all night. Lee was up all night too which is really saying something as he’s not a big dancer.
Not a lot has reallly changed but I love that we have memories of such a special day together.
Our five-year-old keeps telling me I’m now ‘Mummy Wallace’ which is really funny!
