Jennifer didn’t realise how much she loved her future husband until she did the unthinkable – she moved to Scotland to be with him!

“We met in a pub in Plymouth and Geraint tried a cheesy pick-up line on me, which I fell for,” she laughs.

“I thought he was a cheeky Welsh idiot, and it took us a long time to fully admit that we really liked each other.

When he moved to Scotland, we realised that we definitely wanted to be together, so my daughter Lily and I made the move north too.”

Soon enough, Geraint popped the question, and the English and Welsh couple started to organise their Scottish wedding.

Their first priority was booking their wedding venue, and the pair instantly fell in love with the uniqueness of The Cruin and its fabulous lochside location.

Once their dream venue was secured, all Jennifer and Geraint had to do was plan, plan, plan.

But Jennifer found organising her wedding without her mum, who lives in England, really hard.

Still, there was one special person who was always happy to lend a hand: “It was really lovely to get my daughter Lily involved in wedding planning. She was eight at the time, so just loved helping out and coming along to meetings with me!”

Finally, the big day came, and Jennifer could hardly believe it.

“I woke up at 6am and headed out for a walk by the water, just to take it all in,” she smiles.

Before she knew it, she was walking down the aisle with her dad.

“We were both quite nervous and clumsy going down the aisle,” laughs Jennifer, “we were holding on to each to other and trying not to fall!”

Then, almost all of a sudden, she was holding hands with Geraint and exchanging vows.

“The ceremony meant so much to me and was pretty much the highlight of my day. I’m a very shy person and was quite anxious about speaking in front of all our guests, but all those nerves went away as soon as I lay eyes on Geraint.”

The photos, wedding breakfast and speeches went by in a blur, and soon Jennifer, Geraint and Lily were cutting some serious shapes on the dancefloor, surrounded by their closest friends and family.

“The atmosphere at the reception was amazing,” says the bride. “The dancefloor was never empty and everyone was having a great time. Honestly, midnight came too soon!”
