Dress Stories is all about a bride’s relationship with her special wedding outfit, from searching for it to finding it, and how it made her feel on the day.
Rachael chose one dress but knew it wasn’t quite right. Luckily Susan at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo Bridal Boutique helped her find her dream dress.
AND THE BRIDE WORE… a chic lace and crepe long-sleeved Modeca Farida gown with a cathedral-length veil.
How did you feel about wedding dress shopping?
I deliberately didn’t look online or think about what style to go for – my approach was to go and try on as many as possible, and see how it made me feel and it it suited my shape.
Everyone is different, and I felt it was important not to set my heart on something that looked good on someone that was a different shape and size than me.
How was your shopping experience and who went with you?
I instantly felt comfortable with her, and I knew that she would tell me the truth and give me the best advice.
I went to the shop with my mum and two bridesmaids, who all picked dresses for me to try on.
We had a great time, and Susan made us feel so at ease.
I chose a dress that later I felt wasn’t the ideal dress for me.
I was so lucky to be able to change my dress, and went back with my mum to pick the perfect dress.
I couldn’t thank Susan and her team enough for their understanding and help.
What was your dress like and why did you choose it?
The dress I wore was the Modeca Farida dress in ivory, from the 2020 Modeca collection, and I wore a cathedral lace ivory veil with it. The dress was lace and crepe, with a fit-and-flare silhouette shape.
How did you accessorise your dress?
I wore the Rainbow Club Caprice Bow Court Shoes in ivory, and a delicate wire and diamante hair band.
I chose not to wear any jewellery, but on the morning of the wedding I was surprised with a gift from Brian, a beautiful solitaire diamond necklace, and of course I wore this.
