Dress Stories is all about a bride’s relationship with her special wedding outfit, from searching for it to finding it, and how it made her feel on the day.

Having worked in bridal before, Barbirnie House Hotel‘s wedding co-ordinator Christine had a clear idea of what she wanted to wear on her big day.

AND THE BRIDE WORE… a simple and elegant Essense of Australia princess gown.

How did you feel about dress shopping?

I used to work in bridal so my first choice was to go back to Kudos Bridal in Dunfermline.

I know the girls there are amazing at what they do and they looked after me so well from my very first visit to picking up my dress the day before the wedding.

I had always loved a certain type of fabric and a clean simple look, although I still tried various styles.

In the end though I picked what I thought I would.

How was your shopping experience and who went with you?

Even though I used to be the one selling the dresses I still felt special and like a bride.

Kudos made sure of that.

I took a small party of our mums, sister and one bridesmaid.

What was your dress like and why did you choose it?

It was an Essense of Australia dress with a big skirt in plain, simple mikado fabric.

How did you accessorise your dress?

I bought some gorgeous velvet burgundy ribbon which the seamstress added to my dress as a belt, a cathedral-length veil also from Kudos and very low-key jewellery.

My florist made me the most amazing floral hair comb.

My shoes were burgundy velvet Harriet Wilde court shoes.
