Her wedding to Snapchat founder Evan Spiegel might have taken place in May, but model Miranda Kerr has only just shared some snaps from the big day on Instagram.
The happy couple shunned a big blowout bash in favour of an intimate ceremony at their home in California, with just 45 friends and family in attendance. When your garden looks like this, why not?
But it’s Miranda’s dress that’s been getting all the attention in the SWD office. The Dior Haute Couture gown was a custom creation (natch), designed by Dior’s creative director, Maria Grazia Chiuri.
With its long sleeves, high neck and appliqued flowers, the gown gives more than a nod to Grace Kelly’s iconic wedding dress.
“Honestly, I couldn’t have imagined a more beautiful wedding dress,” said the model, who spoke to US Vogue about her big day. “I think it’s every girl’s dream to have Dior design her wedding dress.”
Guests were banned from posting on social media on the big day (we can’t believe they didn’t have their own Snapchat filter, tbh) and a canopy was suspended over the garden to prevent drone cameras getting a peek at the celebrations, but if they’d managed to see in they might have been surprised by what was going on…
Rather than settling her nerves with a glass of Prosecco, the bride kicked the day off by indulging in an hour-long yoga sesh and slow-roasting a chicken scented with lemon and turmeric.
The rest of the day was centred around family. Miranda’s son Flynn (from her previous marriage to Orlando Bloom) acted as ring bearer during the ceremony, and he also joined the couple for their first dance.
The celebrations then went on into the small hours, with a late-night karaoke session. Sounds like our kinda party.
