My fair lady

There’s so much to organise when you’re in the early throes of wedding planning that it’s difficult to know where to start. Luckily, though, the wedding fair season is upon us once again to give you a helping hand! And really, there’s no better place to begin than a wedding fair in Scotland (well, other than reading SWD of course…).

Find a show near you and you’ll be able to meet lots of local suppliers under one roof, all of whom will be happy to chat to you and answer your questions. You’ll get to see their products in ‘real life’, which is particularly good if you want to see things like stationery and transport up close. Plus you’ll have the opportunity to sample sweet treats like cakes, macarons and tablet, and it would be rude not to try the chocolate fountain…

Make the most of your time at each wedding fair by preparing beforehand. Look at the website of each one to see which suppliers will be there, and make a note of those you want to speak to. Buy your tickets in advance – this usually works out cheaper, especially if there’s a group of you going. Bring a tote bag with you to carry any leaflets or business cards you pick up, and wear a pair of comfortable shoes as you’ll be on your feet all day. Have some cash on you, too, in case anything catches your eye!

And don’t forget we have an amazing ticket giveaway on right now, so you could win free tickets to go to a wedding show near you! Click here to find out more. (link to ticket comp)
