Fireworks displays for weddings

A professional fireworks display is a great idea if you’re looking for something to be enjoyed by both your day and evening guests, and it’s a surefire (excuse the pun) way to entertain children.

Fireworks displays in Scotland

The fireworks industry has come a long way since the Bonfire Night displays held in the local park that we all remember seeing as kids. Today firework displays in Scotland are more refined and artistic. They can be so much more dramatic and build to a glittering finale.

Fireworks have also become quieter (in some circumstances, virtually silent), which means that many wedding venues, even those in rural or noise-sensitive areas, can be persuaded to let you hold a display. Most will only do so, however, if you hire a professional company to conduct the display. Although this increases costs, it also gives you peace of mind over safety. You’ll get all the wow factor without any of the hassle – and you won’t need someone to stay sober all night to safely light them!

Bigger and better

No two fireworks displays are the same, so even if your friends are having one at their wedding, yours can be bigger, brighter and better ! And there are lots of ways you can personalise an outdoor show to feature your wedding colours or even your hubby-to-be’s football team’s colours. Some companies also offer the chance to have cute details like your initials beamed into the sky within a love heart-shaped firework. If you wish.

Professional fireworks display

Most displays at weddings last between five and seven minutes. If you want to have your fireworks set to music the cost will rise but the effects will be spectacular. But when speaking to a fireworks supplier it’s important to differentiate between asking for fireworks set to music and fireworks that are simply accompanied by music. The first, which can also be termed a ‘pyromusical’ display, is when the fireworks are timed to fire to the beat. Here the style can vary tremendously between a punchy fast-paced track and a more romantic, slower piece. This style requires a lot of preparation, which is why it costs more. However, whether it’s with or without music, a fireworks display is a spectacle that all your guests can enjoy together.

With thanks to Malcolm Crow of 21CC Fireworks and Mark Copland of Fireworx Scotland for their help with this feature.
