After all the stress of
wedding planning, you'll love the chance to relax and chill out on honeymoon – as long as you remember to follow our
honeymoon tips!
On flight essentials
Pack a few essentials to take on board with you just in case your suitcase goes missing. A change of clothes, toothbrush and some mini beauty products go a long way to help you feel yourself after a long flight.
Flight weight restrictions
The weight and width of bag you can take on a flight these days is dependent on the airline and airport you travel with. Some will charge if your bags are the wrong size, or might even send you back to check your luggage in.
Holiday jabs
If you're
planning a honeymoon in a country which will require you to have
travel vaccinations, make sure that you have all your
immunisation needs met well ahead of your travel date. Some jabs can have side effects, so try to get these out of the way well ahead of the big day.
Travel tags for luggage
Make sure your tickets and
passport names match – this might be an issue if you haven't yet changed your status to 'Mrs'. If in doubt, carry a photocopy of your
marriage licence as proof. Or to keep it simple, leave all the
name-changing business until you return from honeymoon.
Figure it out
When planning the honeymoon, don't forget to check out the local language, food, traditions and customs ahead of your trip – and, most importantly, the currency. There's nothing worse than being unsure about the
exchange rates when you want to buy something with confidence!
Honeymoon travel insurance
For peace of mind, don't forget
honeymoon travel insurance. And check the fine print. If you're going skiing, for example, you'll need extra cover because standard insurance won't cover high risk sports.
