Choosing the wedding rings

The exchange of rings is one of the most meaningful parts of your wedding day, which makes choosing the wedding rings all the more significant, as is the fact that you'll hopefully be wearing it for the rest of your life. So choose carefully with our tips!

Go bespoke

If you can't see anything you like in the jeweller's window then think about having rings made just for you by a designer. This option isn't necessarily as expensive as you might think – and you'll get exactly what you want!

Try them for size

Choosing a wedding ring is much like choosing your wedding gown - – both need to be tried on to see if they suit you. And you'll probably end up choosing something completely different to what you'd first considered.

Be practical

As well as looking beautiful, your wedding band should be comfortable and suit your lifestyle. There's no use in choosing an intricate and delicate design, for example, if either of you does a job where you work with your hands.

Try something unusual

Gold and platinum aren't your only metal options these days. Ask to see rings in palladium, titanium, zirconium and even steel to fit with your style and budget.

Remember your prior engagement

Make sure to take your engagement ring into consideration when choosing your wedding band. Some metals rub each other up the wrong way – literally. So choose a wedding rin that sits next to your engagement ring without causing trouble.
