If you're not used to being the star of the show then you're probably not much looking forward to your wedding photography session on your big day. We've listed the top five most common worries and why you needn't worry about them to help you pose with confidence!1. I'm not good at posing
Photographers understand that you're not a model and won't expect you to act like one. But they will probably add a little direction, such as asking you to turn to the side or hold your chin a bit higher up.
2. I freeze in front of the camera
Most photographers will have tried and tested ways of getting even the most camera-phobic couples to relax, but many of these involve bad jokes so be warned!
3. I'm not photogenic
Don't worry, it's the photographer's job to make you look good in pictures and much of that involves lighting and good composition as well as finding the most flattering angle to shoot from. But if there's something about your body or face that you don't particularly like (and would rather not have featured) then please do mention it to your photographer so that they can do some Photoshop magic on your behalf!
4. The venue doesn't look great
There are plenty of ways around photographing an unattractive venue. There's bound to be a pretty park nearby, or at least something your photographer could use as a backdrop. Or maybe you could make use of lesser known areas of the grounds. It's best to speak to your venue's wedding co-ordinator and your photographer ahead of time on this one to ensure you get the best results possible.
5. We're a wee bit shy
Just because you're having wedding photos taken needn't mean that they'll be a cheesy snogfest! Much of this depends on the style of photographer you're after and making sure you choose someone who gets to know you as a couple. A pre-wedding shoot is great for gaining confidence in your photographer and for laying out what exactly you want to do in your shoot. A public display of affection needn't mean more than a gentle kiss on the lips, if that's all you want to see featured in your album. It's really up to you!
